My company is just about to start up. The planning and preperation is a long process but is so worth it. My advice is to take your time, be 100% sure of your ambitions and always evaluate the mission of your business strategy. I would say it took me 6 months to be completely happy with my brand, website, products.
There are always going to be hard, stressful times but you have to really try and enjoy the process, be serious but have fun with it.

Hello,
Can you tell me what program or software I can use to create the look I want with the slogans I plan to use on my shirts? I’m not sure what I need or what to use for getting the look with fonts and so forth for shirt slogans and the text on shirts. Thank You for any suggestions or help! Also, if you would, share with me your opinion on Cafe Press or any other shirt type of sites and business helpers online? The places where you can sell your own designs and make a small profit.

actually, I think there are many other questions far more important. If you plan to put some images on t-shirt do you need to ask and get permission from company which owns TM? How to register online business? Shipment issues, electronic payment methods stuff like that

Good article that still applies today, 2 years later! “Know the competition” is important. Stucdy them and see why they are successful and borrow from theit formulas, but make it your own.

it’s all too common that people don’t know the first thing about the t-shirt business when they’re trying to start a t-shirt brand. they want “high quality t-shirts with amazingly big designs with lots of color” for cheap (like really cheap and always try to order in small runs (5 shirts “just to make a trial run”). People should do some research and learn the basics..
